FAQs and Design Guidelines
We got your tufting workshop questions & answers!
A typical workshop may take 2-3 hours- please allocate the appropriate amount of time for your reservation.
Our team will:
- Set up your tufting station with your requested design
- Source the proper yarn according to the colors of your requested design
- Provide expert instruction on how to use a tufting gun
- Supervise throughout the entire tufting session
- Glue, trim, and apply a backing to your rug

Our Custom Design option lets you choose whatever design you prefer, as long as it fits within our design requirements (see the bottom of this page). Our Flash Sheet option allows you to choose from any of our pre-made designs from our curated flash sheet. Simply specify the design code in the form when booking your workshop and we will prepare your frame accordingly.
You have the option of 27x27in or 19x19in frames (select size on the workshop page). We'll make your design as large as possible within the frame dimensions.

We require 3-6 weeks to glue, trim, and apply a backing to your rug. Once completed, we will email you with pick-up details.
Reschedules are permitted if notified at least 48 hours in advance. Please email us at hello@scatteredkind.com to reschedule your workshop.
Our tufting workshops are open to participants ages 12 and up.
Participants ages 12–15 must be accompanied by an adult, while participants 16 and older may attend independently.
Our workshops cater to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced tufters. Our expert instructors provide guidance and support throughout the session.
Yes, booking deadlines help us properly prepare materials and frames:
- Flash Sheet Workshops: must be booked at least 3 days in advance
- Custom Design Workshops: must be booked at least 8 days in advance
Yes, all necessary materials, including yarn, tufting gun, and backing, are provided for the workshop.
Once your rug is finished, you’ll receive an email with next steps.
You may either pick up your rug from the studio or request shipping for an additional fee.
For studio storage reasons, finished rugs must be picked up within 2 months of completion. Rugs not collected within this timeframe may be discarded.
Yes! We host corporate events, private parties, and group workshops for teams, brands, and celebrations.

Custom rugs can be ordered through our commission form on our website.
Once submitted, our team will review your request, confirm feasibility, pricing, and timeline, and follow up with next steps. Production timelines vary depending on size, complexity, and current workload.
